After I earned my license as a real estate broker, I was thrilled to go into the job. My mother was a real estate broker and she always told us that it was such a great feeling when you finally have to hand a family the key to their house. She said it was magical and that nothing else can paint such beautiful smiles like that.
Some of my colleagues were quite competitive and you will see pictures of their faces plastered all over the place. Well, I cannot blame them. Commission for a sale is quite rewarding and what better motivation to get someone going than money, right?
I refuse to be fueled by that. Just as my mother told me once, as a broker you have the responsibility to change people’s lives and make them better. I have always admired Mn real estate and when I finally earned the license to sell houses in Minnesota, I was really thrilled for myself. When I got into this real estate firm I realized selling houses is not an easy job. The competition among brokers was really tough and you had find creative ways to put your name out there.
I chose to be like my mother. To sell houses I never sold lies or colorful dreams… I gave realities. For every family that I met, I made sure that I matched their needs to the house that I was selling. I made sure that when they get into the house, they will immediately feel of it as home. That is my job as real estate agent. My job is to build realities… not dreams.
